As part of its goal to prioritize active transportation initiatives and reduce carbon emissions, District of North Vancouver says it is working to provide residents with more sustainable mobility options including e-bikes and e-cargo bikes.
Later in 2024, DNV will be launching a e-cargo bike pilot program.
These bikes are equipped to handle substantial loads, making them suitable for various errands and tasks within the community. To facilitate community engagement and address inquiries regarding the e-bike share program and the upcoming e-cargo bike pilot, Brendon James, Transportation Demand Management Coordinator at DNV, is available for contact via email at jamesb@dnv.org.
Additionally, DNV staff will be available at various community centers and libraries from March to May 2024 to answer questions and showcase available transportation options on the North Shore:

In 2021, the three North Shore municipalities worked together to establish the e-bike share pilot program. After a successful pilot period, Councils from all three participating municipalities directed staff to establish a permanent e-bike share operation. A successful e-bike lending program has operated on the North Shore since 2021, with a recorded 156,000 trips and user base of over 35,000.
