A motorcyclist who turned right from the left lane—cutting off another vehicle and endangering nearby cyclists—has been ticketed for an improper turn, North Van RCMP said Tuesday.

The violation was highlighted as part of a weekly road safety campaign shared by local enforcement officials under the #TicketTuesday initiative. “Turning from the wrong lane isn’t clever, it’s careless,” North Van RCMP said. “It’s unsafe, illegal, and it could cost you more than just a ticket.”
Police reminded drivers that improper turns can create serious hazards for other motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians. The fine for such infractions varies by jurisdiction but typically ranges between $109 and $167 in B.C., along with penalty points on the driver’s record.
