A new full-size artificial turf field at Inter River Park in the District of North Vancouver will be ready for play on May 1, 2026.

A new full-size artificial turf field at Inter River Park will be ready for play starting May 1, 2026, according to the news release.

The field meets tournament standards and can accommodate soccer, field hockey, and some levels of baseball, including youth games for players U11 and under, as well as women’s fastpitch. The District of North Vancouver says the addition will help increase sports field availability and meet growing community demand.

A new washroom facility is also under construction next to the field, south of the BMX and pump tracks. The District noted the building is fully accessible and will feature five universal washroom stalls, though it is not yet open to the public. Visitors can expect to see some construction activity on site as final work is completed.

The project received partial funding from the Province of British Columbia’s Growing Communities Fund, a program that supports municipalities in delivering improved amenities and accelerating infrastructure needs. The District acknowledged and thanked the Province for its support.
