Playground areas at Delbrook Park, Eldon Park, and Maplewood Farm will be closed starting Tuesday, September 9, for resurfacing work. The playgrounds will be resurfaced with engineered wood fibre as part of its annual program to improve safety and meet Canadian Standards Association standards.
The closures will affect the playgrounds at Maplewood Farm and Delbrook Park, as well as the east swing set area at Eldon Park. The rest of each park will remain open. Work is expected to be completed by Friday, September 19. Residents can expect some construction noise during permitted working hours.
Spotters will be present during excavation and hauling to ensure the safety of traffic and pedestrians.
Parking and traffic impacts will vary by site:
– Delbrook Park: Parking on the north side of West Queens Road will be reserved for construction during excavation and hauling.
– Eldon Park: Single-lane alternating traffic will be in place during excavation and hauling.
– Maplewood Farm: Several parking lot stalls will be reserved for construction equipment.
