Construction on Gallant Ave in Deep Cove to end this month

The detour on Naughton Avenue is expected to be closed this month

strict of North Vancouver has now installed the storm culvert and crews are nearing the end of construction in Deep Cove.

While work such as creek channel restoration, landscaping, sidewalks and final paving will be completed through December, DNV expects to fully re-open upper Gallant Avenue to traffic in November.

Once Gallant Ave is ready to be re-opened, the construction detour on Naughton Avenue will be closed and blocked off to all vehicle traffic.

DNV is also planning to launch a survey this month to hear from the community about the future of Naughton Avenue.

“This is in line with our commitment to conduct a more formal public consultation, as follow-up to the ideas that the community contributed to the Ideas Board earlier this year,” DNV says.

Residents can sign up for updates at the Naughton Avenue webpage and will be contacted with the link to the survey once it launches.

The results of the survey will be presented to Council in early 2022.

I don’t understand why the lions gate hospital parking in always full. If you have an appointment for medical tests you cannot get a parking spot even at 9am. I assume because it is now free people use the parking for non medical use.
